TIPS & HACKS: Maximize Team Efficiency with GCal's Shared Calendars
Shared calendars in GCal are not just about keeping track of your own schedule; they’re a dynamic tool for teams, families, and groups to stay synchronized. From managing a project timeline to coordinating family outings, shared calendars bring everyone onto the same page.
Creating Your Shared Calendar: Setting up a shared calendar is straightforward. Start by opening GCal and selecting 'Create New Calendar'. Give it a relevant name and description, ensuring it reflects its purpose. After creating it, select the new created calendar, you can share it with your team or family members by entering their email addresses and assigning appropriate permissions — whether they can only view the calendar or make changes to it.
Managing Access and Permissions: Understanding permissions is key to effective calendar sharing. You can choose from several levels, such as ‘See only free/busy’, ‘Make changes to events’, or ‘Make changes and manage sharing’. This ensures that each member has access tailored to their role or need. Remember, maintaining privacy is crucial, especially for personal events.
